Welcome to the Interleague section of the Shepton Mallet and District Pool League website.

1st match - Shepton A v Shepton B, 16th Feb 2007

The first match of the season was well worth waiting for. Although the A's got off to a flyer with the first 2 games, the B's soon pegged them back to 2-2 thanks to the Richards (Higdon and Proudfoot). James Young soon got the A's back to 3-2 but the biggest cheer of the night was saved for young Joe Reilly beating Rich Young to restore parity. The A team then took the next 3 to go into halftime 6-3 up.

The 2nd half was somewhat one way traffic in favour of the A team. Rich Higdon won his 2nd match of the night (the only B player to do so). Andy Smith produced the only 8-ball clearance of the night for the A team and along with Mark Burr, Josh Johnson, James Young and Andy Reilly kept a 100% win record for the night. At 13-4 down going into the last match, Brett Orrell produced a cracking victory over A team captain Rob Shepherd to restore some pride for the B team. 13-5, the final score.

All in all a good night for both teams, The A team getting a good start for their hoped promotion push, and a valuable learning experience for the B team who will only get better as the season goes on.
